Building a more conscious you
For
millennia, religions have claimed to hold a moral code received from a
divine order that is the truth and path of life. Philosophers too
throughout human history have sought to understand the nature of reality
and have different ideas about what equals virtuous living. In this the
21st century, Science has reached new heights in medicine, anti-aging,
and even gene therapy, while technology is creating artificial
intelligence, leaving collective humanity close to becoming gods in our
right. Yet still, millions believe in creationism and apply ancient
texts to modern society.
We
are born into belief systems and cultures, which deeply mold our
convictions and condition us into following whatever our direct
environment dictates. Within the jungle of progress, never ending
consumerism, and social media keeping us continually “busy” no wonder
many find being authentic inadequate for society’s demands. But instead
of all the reactivity flare, we can turn from the cravings for a
promised heaven, be that in old religious texts, the need to be
eternally young and embrace the bare elements of life, growth, aging and
finally death with a more open mind. Using conscious aware reasoning,
emotional maturity and meditation we can be more in touch with our true
natures. Being conscious of your biases, deeply embedded in our egos,
we can build more conscious selves and together a more conscious
society.
Lisa’s quotes
"Spirituality
is not the tale of religious narrative but rather a state of
consciousness, that realizes itself in a deeper more authentic,
integrated non-dual nature with reality."— Lisa Kerman
