Poetry reflections

Goodbye to old years - hello New ones...

Trees

Trees are ballet dancers of the natural world
Arched and leaning gracefully, branches stretched
Held as arms, while firm rooted trunks
Mov holiday against gravity into the deep
Mirroing their upward and external appearance.

PAST SOULS

To all those who I have liked and loved
Who bought to life a song
That helped to carry a burden along
I am grateful to them all

Some left early, ,through natural cause or not
Sometimes because the song we had
Was best to be forgot
But others faded due to life and growth
That simply led us apart

Waves

Every wave is a memory, a person
Intermingling with life, rising and breaking
Any tension, into released foam
Abandoning its own powerful surge
To recede back to its source, repetitively rebuilding
Momentums of highs to tones of hum
And dissipation
Nature too is unable to escape from these
Boundless determined actions,
Climaxing continually, endlessly
Shaping sand and stone,
Angry in storms, soft in low tide
But always in flux and infinite energy

Dreams

Dreams.... the temporary places We imagine our best worlds
Seagulls flying over palm trees, sea air and flower scent
Permeating our senses
A vision of Mediterranean deep blue ocean
A place of refuge to escape busy lives
No chattering, phone rings or notifications
Only the sun mirroring its rays on the surface of
Perpetual waves in motion, which break
Over shoreline rocks of steadfast never changing reality

2020 The year Corona came and changed our lives

An angel's departure

Birds chattering in the trees as dusk appears,
Below the pink, mauve and blue tinted skies
Boys footballing, a tennis ball bouncing
A rollar blade skater poised on one leg
Her other aligned hip high after her backward twirl

If I were to leave this planet and have this memory flash
What comfort, what joy, what peace,
What an angel's departure.

RiP to all Corona victims.  Hans who passed the following year

Rest -

Sometimes, just as the moon has to rest, and shine dimly behind clouds
We too must recede behind societal obligatory lawyers and stop a moment
Reflecting, breathing, meditating on the past, pausing the future
Accepting the now.

Not all is bright continuously, waves of reality differ each year
We stumble, grow and move towards the end of life
Always learning and experiencing, grateful to have had such joy
Despite the thorns life sometimes throws upon our paths.

Death

Death like a sleep unfurling from a state of oblivion
Into soft arousal and wakefulness, is surely just as peaceful
As we float into the unknown from whence we came

Where does experience go? After all its joys and sorrows...
Evaporation into consciousness and emptiness?
Leaving space to create new dreams, intentions and plans
Only to return where we started
To the darkness we never knew.

As we get older we lose some people too, all to remind us to enjoy and appreciate every moment of our lives because 365 days is over in a flash and we are all not here forever. Enjoy the last few days of of the year and make the best of the new 365 days to come.

Jaguar passed in June 2018.

Sung to Supertramp's "Goodbye Stranger"

It was a summer full of clear blue days
That warmed me to the bone
Time to play and time to laze
Time to put away the phone

"Like a ship without an anchor
Like a slave without a chain"
Summer sends its freedom
Steaming though our veins

But now it's...

Goodbye Summer.. you paradise
Autumn's here now... nature's so precise
Goodbye flowers...all leafy trees
Butterflies and ... All the bees…

Smoking is unhealthy?

Smoking offers time to sit back
Relax, breath in and ponder
A moment to reflect....
Smoking calms shaky hands
Which tremble in fear or doubt
When uncertainty falls upon us
Smoking creates distance
When reality delivers boredom
From mundane routine or chatter....

WATER AND SOAP

Have a wet and bubbly shower
It's the best time of the day
Time to wash and time to drain
All that has been done away....

Sing a song of Europe all nations full of pride
Twenty seven countries free to please the eye
Travel borders open, Bratislava here I come
Ready to ascend the hill to royal gardens high.

What a disaster Brexit is.... and Trump in the same year

GARDENING

Gardening brings pleasure, many beautiful flower
Where each has shared earth, the sun and rain power
Vegetables, lawns, fruits so bright
Plants need space, to absorb the light
Gardens are places where nature performs
Her magic to crown and each thing adorn

A PASSAGE

Sing a song of pension, no more career tension
A life in full ascenion so much more still to mention
Days of ease with hope and joy, planning photographic ploy
With your favourite birthday toy, no time for any lover boy

Museums galore, books to read, watching swans a solace creed
Nature takes our soul to knead, No techno stress, the mind is freed,
Enjoy all time we have to play, carpe diem, seize the day
Faith in life will show the way, keeping troubles all at bay

When walks are done, water boil, upon the lap let kitties coil
Let photo magic all doubts foil, bring rest from any daily toil
Time to savour fruits of life, goodbye to all unnecessary strife
No need to be any idiot's wife!
